The Untouchables

The Untouchables – blues music for dancing feet
Back by popular demand.
The Untouchables are champions of raw blues, basing their sound on the swinging soul of the great artists who recorded for Chess Records in the 50s. With a string bass, a big old drum kit, a cranked guitar through a hot valve amp and a wailing harp, they turn any venue into a rocking juke joint.
This is blues for dancing. If you love Louis Jordan, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Hound Dog Taylor, then you’ll love The Untouchables.
Tonight they’ll be adding some Sun-era Elvis to their set to celebrate his 75th birthday

Jules & The Gamblers

Jules and the Gamblers play the blues – the real blues, greased-up, jumpin, swingin’, shufflin’, harp-blastin’ good-time blues. The blues that left Chicago and went south to Texas, west to California, but never left the 1950s.
Wailing harp, hollow-bodied guitar sounds, swinging, or low-down dirty rhythms…
That’s where Jules and the Gamblers come from.
Come & Enjoy

Hamilton Loomis (USA)

“If blues, soul, and rock can be said to form a triangle, you’ll find Hamilton Loomis right in the center of it”, says Guitar Player Magazine. An apt description, as Loomis is one of the young artists at the forefront of bringing blues into the 21st century and redefining it for a contemporary audience. He has been bridging the gap between generations of music-lovers both in the U.S. and around the world.

Red Stripe

Red Stripe let by eccentric raconteur and boogie woogie front man Red Stripe on piano, this engaging show is delivered with high energy and is filled with on and off stage antics. Red is joined by a highly animated horn section and the georgeous TV’s “Stars in their Eyes” finalist Gemma Nelson. Baritone and tenor sax players Erica Clarke and Martin Gray will be off the stage and among the audience given half a chance and Red will be seen with his Keytar following suit. Their music is drawn from the boogie woogie , jive and rock’n’roll of the 1930’s-1950’s including original material. Audiences at festivals and clubs from New York to Tokyo and Milan to Monte Carlo have been thrilled by this hugely entertaining and engaging show

Mud Morganfield (USA)

Just like his old man Mud Morganfield was a truck driver with a passion
for music and in his spare time he would sing with various soul groups.
As he grew older and particularly since his father’s funeral in 1983
(where he met his half brother Bill Morganfield for the first time) he
moved towards and finally embraced the blues. Mud is his fathers son,
looking remarkably similar and possessed of a fine baritone voice in
the tradition of Muddy Snr. Mud cut his teeth in the clubs of the
Chicago Southside, but has until recently kept a low profile and
quietly built a solid audience with childhood friends like Eddie Taylor
Jr helping him out on the bandstand.
Charlotte Street Blues is delighted to welcome Muddy Water’s first born son, Mud
Morganfield. This will be Mud’s his second appearance in London and promises to be
an unmissable night.
