Super Bowl Party Recipes: Finger Foods and Dips

What good would a Super Bowl party be without some appetizing snacks? If you're hosting your own party this year, you may feel under the gun to produce a spread of food that will appeal to everyone's tastes. Keeping the dishes simple and relatively unhealthy are usually key factors to satisfy everyone's hunger and leave them wanting more. Use the following Super Bowl party recipes to entertain your guests and turn your party into an event that no one will ever forget:

Finger Foods

Ham and Cream Cheese Roll-Ups

Ingredients: 1 pound of softened cream cheese

1 pound of sliced ham

15 green onions

2 tsp of horseradish

Directions: Begin by finely chopping the green onions. Next, combine the cream cheese, horseradish, and green onions in a large bowl and mix. Take individual ham slices and spread the mixture on each slice. Finally, roll the ham slices up and put them in the refrigerator. To make serving the roll-ups easier, you can consider cutting each slice in half. This will also make it seem like you have made double the amount of roll-ups.

Tortilla Wedges

Ingredients: 10 flour tortillas

1 cream cheese package (8 oz) – make sure it is softened

1 can of diced green chilies (4.25 oz)

1 Tablespoon of minced jalapeno peppers

1/2 cup of sour cream

1/2 cup of sliced green onions

Directions: Combine the cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl and mix them thoroughly. You can also add salt and pepper to your liking. Plus I would recommend a small touch of garlic powder. Next, stir in the green chilies, green onions, and jalapenos. Take a tortilla and spread about ¨ù cup of the mixture onto the tortilla and top it with another tortilla. Keep spreading and stacking the tortillas until they are about five high. Repeat the above steps to get a second stack of five tortillas. Place the tortilla stacks in the refrigerator for about an hour, and then slice the stacks up into small wedges for serving. These wedges taste good with guacamole or salsa so consider serving them along with either.

Pepperoni Cheese Ball

Ingredients: 1 package of cream cheese (8 oz)

1/2 cup of grated pepperoni

1/2 cup of whipping cream

Directions: Whip the whipping cream, either by hand or in a mixer. Stir in the cream cheese and grated pepperoni and mix them together well. Finally, form the mixture into a ball using your hands and place in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it. Toasted bread or crackers will be needed unless you want your guests going in for it with a spoon!

Dips

Garlic Dip

Ingredients: 5 cloves of garlic

2 large potatoes

3 Tablespoons of vinegar

1 cup of parsley

1/2 cup of olive oil

1/8 teaspoon of salt and pepper

Directions: Begin by boiling the potatoes. While the potatoes are boiling, peel and crush the garlic cloves. When the potatoes are tender, remove them and cut them into small pieces. Next, place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend the mixture until it is smooth.

Spinach Dip

Ingredients: 2 cups of sour cream

1 package of cream cheese (8 oz)

1 package of frozen spinach (chopped)

1 package of vegetable soup mix

1/2 cup of mayonnaise

half an onion

Directions: Start off by thawing and draining the frozen spinach. Next, finely chop the half onion. Finally, place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them thoroughly. Remember to refrigerate the dip until you are going to serve it.

Simplicity is the key to making popular and appetizing party foods. Hopefully these recipes will help you throw the perfect Super Bowl party!
